Emotional Intelligence on the Job

Emotional Intelligence Specialist and Author Amy Jacobson said, “Emotional Intelligence in the workplace—including the five key concepts of self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, social skills and motivation—is defined as your ability to identify and manage your personal emotions and the emotions of your colleagues and co-workers.”

Many organizations rely on emotional intelligence assessments to build high-performing teams with effective co-worker relationships.

Everything DiSC® is an assessment-based learning experience that measures an individual’s preferences and tendencies based on the scientifically proven DiSC® model. The model uses four behavioral styles to help co-workers assess their differences, modify their inclinations, and improve their communication styles.

Dominance + Influence + Steadiness + Conscientiousness

DiSC Model
  • D – Debra is dominant and direct. Her drivers are having control, influence, and avoiding weakness.
  • I – Ivie is social and has high energy. Her drivers are connecting with others and feeling appreciated.
  • S – Stewart is patient and gentle. His drivers are making people happy and giving them a sense of belonging.
  • C – Cody is analytical and reserved and always needs to be correct. His drivers are his need for autonomy and to avoid being blamed.

DiSC® assessments help people better understand themselves and what drives them, including priorities, motivators, and stressors. At the same time, assessments help them acknowledge and appreciate the people they work with and how to respond to different DiSC® styles. EQ assessments teach team members how to read a situation’s emotional and interpersonal needs and respond accordingly. By strengthening self-awareness, organizations improve co-worker relationships and increase productivity and motivation.

When you grow your people, you grow your business.
