Description + Goal

NHC HealthCare is a 132-licensed-bed, post-acute, 24-hour skilled nursing center that serves individuals after a stroke, joint replacement, cardiac procedure, or serious illness. NHC wanted to improve communication among team members and adaptability to change.

Solution + Services

As the NHC HealthCare team faced leadership changes, we stepped in to improve team cohesion and communication through modified meeting structures and conflict resolution training.

We deployed The Five Behaviors® Team Development solution to help participants understand themselves, their team’s personalities, and how they can work effectively together. We utilized the framework that starts with trust and works through conflict, commitment, accountability, and results.

For the management team, we used the Everything DiSC® solution to deploy assessments about personal management styles, people reading, delegation, motivation, and talent development. We guided managers to explore how to better connect with their managers, get buy-in, and deal with conflict.

Outcomes

Team cohesion at NHC has dramatically improved. Meetings are more productive, conflict resolution tactics are more widespread, and communication among co-workers has shifted from mistrust to transparent, constructive dialogue.
